Lead with Love

August 2020 Love Letters: Day 9

Hello, sweetheart!

Today is Sunday, and I hope you have found rest. This has been a very relaxing day for me: I chatted with dear friends, hung out with my pup (she is always by my side), worked on a painting, made a trip to the craft store, and now I’m watching a sermon while writing you this love letter. Darling, I know you may not share my faith or religion, and that’s okay. Truly. I don’t want you to ever feel pressured by me to convert. My goal with Christianity is to be an example of what a Christian *should* be like, and let God handle the rest.

We all struggle with our faith sometimes, especially when times are hard. We all feel alone sometimes, even when we are surrounded by others. We all feel misunderstood sometimes, or like we may not know where we fit in. I want to tell you today: you are loved through all of your phases, all of your questions, all of your actions, all of your feelings… we talked about my customer yesterday who said he wouldn’t be happy until [fill in the blank]. My response to him? “Well, sir, that is your choice.”

We have a choice. Love, or fear, that’s as simple as it gets. The customer yesterday didn’t truly have anything to worry about with his particular situation. He was choosing to hold onto negativity even after I reassured him that it is all good. You don’t need to worry today, my love. I know you have a lot on your plate. Being grateful for that plate, and what you’re carrying on it, is the key to unlocking your joy. Humility is not the same as humiliation, though they have the same roots. Gratitude comes through humility. We are strong when we can allow ourselves to be honest and vulnerable, when we lead with love instead of fear.

I am honored to be a friend who you can rely on to come through with whatever I can do to help. It is humbling every time my kindness and love is recognized and reflected back at me. The reason it is so humbling for me, is because it reminds me that I am only the messenger. The message comes from up above: you are divine. You are loved. YOU ARE LOVE. You can channel it, too, via the Spirit we share. You already DO channel it, every time you CHOOSE to lead with love. I love you today, and always, my darling. I believe in you. I HAVE FAITH in you, and us, and our love for each other. We can make it through anything when we CHOOSE to work together, when we choose to make sacrifices out of love for each other.

Rise up, darling. Rise above. Get out of your own head and do what you can to be of service to others. There is *always* something you can do to help, and there is always something worth your gratitude. Today, I am grateful for deep breaths (take one, or two, eyes closed), the ability to wonder “What if…?” in a positive light, and the amazing grace that has been bestowed upon me. I am showering you with all the love and grace I have access to thanks to our heavenly Creator. I love you! I am praying for you, and if there is anything specific you need prayer for, don’t be afraid to ask for it.

Until next time, my love!

Always,

L Joy
